UPOWA achieves ISO 9001 & ISO 45001 certifications

We are proud to announce that we have successfully renewed certification under two ISO standards; ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management) and ISO 45001: 2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management).

We have been using our ISO management systems for quality and health and safety since 2019. As we continue to scale our solar PV, battery storage and EV charging solutions it was essential to validate that these management systems continue to align with the requirements of the ISO standards.

The ISO (International Standards Organisation) is an independent, international organisation who uphold worldwide industrial and commercial international standards.

After analysis and a detailed audit of our current quality and health and safety management systems, an independent third party validated that our management systems are being maintained in compliance with the ISO standards.

Renewing the ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 standards shows our commitment to safely delivering high quality renewable energy solutions to meet our client’s needs.

We will positively engage with the ISO standards, continually reviewing and improving the way we work to ensure we maintain service excellence to our customers, quality in our supply chain and safety in construction and protection of the environment.
— John Toms, Head of Commercial at UPOWA

What is ISO 9001:2015?

The ISO 9001 is the world's most recognised Quality Management System (QMS) standard. It aims to help organisations meet the needs of their customers and other stakeholders more effectively. This is achieved by building a framework to ensure consistent quality in the provision of goods and/or services.

The standard is based on 7 quality management principles, including having a strong customer focus, the involvement of senior management, and a drive for continual improvement.

UPOWA’s quality management system for the design, supply, installation and maintenance of solar PV, battery storage and electric vehicle charging technologies is accredited with the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management certification.

What is ISO 45001:2018?

ISO 45001 is the international standard for occupational health and safety management replacing the OHSAS 18001 standard. The standard reduces workplace risks to improve employee safety.

The ISO 45001 certification allows UPOWA to show it uses a best-practice Occupational Health and Safety Management System – reducing the likelihood of accidents and breaches of legislation, as well as improving our overall performance.

This standard surpasses many existing health and safety standards because it has been developed by a committee of occupational health and safety experts.

UPOWA’s Occupational Health and Safety Management System for the installation and maintenance of solar PV, battery storage and electric vehicle charging technologies is accredited with the ISO 45001:2018 certification.
