UPOWA secures 3-year solar PV supply agreement with Barratt Developments

  • Barratt Developments names UPOWA as key solar PV supplier to help streamline their transition to Part L and the Future Homes Standard.

  • The partnership will see UPOWA support eight divisions of Barratt and David Wilson Homes to meet new carbon-reduction targets and create sustainable, future-ready homes.

  • Barratt and David Wilson Homes to specify UPOWA Inline Solar system as its product of choice where there is a need for roof-integrated solar panels.

We are proud to announce a three-year national supplier agreement with Barratt Developments, the country’s largest housebuilder, to deliver solar PV requirements for a range of their new housing developments.

UPOWA will partner with eight Barratt and David Wilson Homes divisions to support their Part L transition and full implementation needs for sites throughout Southern and Western areas of the country.

Under the partnership, the UPOWA team will manage design, product supply, installation, and maintenance of solar PV systems to help the UK’s biggest housebuilder deliver sustainable homes that are fit for the future.

Where there is a need for roof-integrated solar panels, UPOWA will supply its market-leading Inline Solar system. This offers housing developers the ultimate combination of quality, market-leading power, safety, and sleek aesthetics backed by robust supply.

We are proud to get this deal over the line and become one of Barratt Developments’ trusted solar PV suppliers. With a track-record of delivering first-class solar PV installations for several of its divisions over the last ten years, this new partnership confirms their trust in our specialist solar product and service.

We look forward to helping Barratt and David Wilson Homes to create high-quality sustainable homes that will save homeowners energy, reduce emissions, and combat rising energy prices.
— James Bull, Managing Director at UPOWA

Helping Barratt & David Wilson Homes get Part L ready

UPOWA will support eight Barratt and David Wilson Homes divisions with all their solar specification needs to make the primary energy part of Part L transition as pain-free as possible. This includes helping to find the best customer cost friendly PV solutions to meet the new carbon reduction targets.

Currently, around 10% of the 180,000 new homes built in England have solar PV installed. But it’s estimated that this figure will rise rapidly to as much as 80% as the new Part L and the Future Homes Standards come into force from June this year.

We aim to be the country’s leading national sustainable housebuilder, and securing long term partnerships with our PV suppliers is an important part of that.

This new three year agreement with UPOWA will help our customers to reduce their energy use and to save money.
