UPOWA names Paul Terry as new MD

UPOWA is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Terry as its new Managing Director. Paul joins the business during its continued growth to meet surging demand for solar PV, battery storage and EV charging solutions.

Paul’s appointment follows the strong foundations built by James Bull, who founded the business in 2008 and oversaw the acquisition by Brickability Group PLC in 2021. James remains in a prominent position as Sales Director, overseeing UPOWA’s design, estimating and sales functions.

This marks an exciting new chapter for UPOWA. With a clear vision for the future, Paul will guide the business’ journey and cement its position as the go-to provider for sustainable technology products and services. Drawing on his expertise, Paul will focus on strategic growth and driving operational excellence across all areas of the business.

Paul has over 24 years of experience delivering a range of products, systems and solutions in the housebuilding industry. Before joining UPOWA, he held leadership roles at Mark Group, Mitie and Knauf before becoming Managing Director at Roofspace Solutions, part of the Saint-Gobain Group. Paul and his team transformed Roofspace into a market-leading delivery partner for housing developers, with a strong focus on health and safety, exceptional customer service and innovation.

It is an exciting time to join UPOWA, one of the UK’s leading sustainable technology specialists and the Brickability Group. The team has been excellent, ensuring a seamless transition so I could hit the ground running and begin steering the business on our new growth journey.

With a defined strategy in place, we are well positioned to meet the growing demand for our solutions. I am looking forward to working alongside James and our brilliant team to deliver the highest-quality products and service to customers across the housebuilding, construction and commercial sectors
— Paul Terry, Managing Director at UPOWA

I am delighted that Paul Terry has joined UPOWA to help scale the business in line with our exciting growth plans. His track record speaks for itself and is highly respected across the housebuilding industry. With Paul’s leadership and commitment to quality and safety, we are prepared and ready to support our clients with all their sustainability needs
— James Bull, Founder & Sales Director

The announcement comes during a year of success for UPOWA. With long-term solar PV supply agreements secured for Barratt Developments, Taylor Wimpey and Redrow, UPOWA will be installing solar panels on thousands of sustainable homes across the country.

Under the new partnerships, UPOWA is streamlining the housing developers’ transition through Part L and the Future Homes Standard, saving time and money on achieving compliance.
